Gaithersburg, MD, March 2006 - KPL, Inc., a leading supplier of protein detection reagents and systems for biological research, today announced that it has obtained APHIS registration from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS). APHIS regulations govern the transfer of biological materials to minimize or eliminate possible threats to public health and agriculture.  Registration allows KPL to ship animal-derived products, such as polyclonal antibodies, to manufacturing companies in the European Union.  APHIS registration will open new business opportunities for KPL and for manufacturing partners worldwide.
